AI is useful until some point, for basic Google-it task is easier to use “name the song where the main point is I want to mmm” - AI got this one pretty fast, google will give you different thing. But intelligence? No, that’s still too hype.

hell, even the gems are being ignored. and I debate that its no longer an entry position. in the old ways you would get the job to learn the craft, now they expect everyone to be doing from coding for 5 years in a specific type of work or even something as simple as landscaping, i love that kind of work, i have +10 years of that and other types of labor experience under my belt and even then they dont want me. I have a feeling that the economy is about to take a big hit. Im even debating to join the military because im starting to loose options. not against the idea its just if i can live a life without war, then ill choose the simple job anytime.

I would also say a massive tip, get a quick and dirty landing page and get waiting list sign ups for your app before you've even released it. This can be good for many reasons, 2 big ones. 1. Gives you an idea of how many people want your service. 2. You're able to go to investors with some sort of leg up without a 'trust me bro, this app will take off'

Python simplifies the programmer's life a little and drastically worsens the user's life; Python consumes 4x more memory than C++ and is 60x slower in the tests we perform here with various codes. Python for those who are not computer scientists even makes sense, to run administrative problems and simple things, prototypes; But for computer scientists and engineers who process a lot of data or complex calculations, I don't see the point. It is necessary to remember the motivation for using computers. The great advantage of programming languages is to speed up the USER's life, saving time to carry out their activities. C/C++ does this, optimizing memory and processing time in favor of the user and the environment. Python makes it easier for the programmer and slower for users... In addition to being completely anti-ecological. Another point, a program is compiled a few times until we reach the final version, and will be used thousands of times by thousands of users, so the compilation time is only relevant for those who program. Once again, attention should be paid to the objective of computer science, which should be to make things easier for the user and not for the programmer. First the customer's interest. Second, maintain the profession at a high level. Prototyping programming languages should be for prototyping only. And the idea that being a little slow the user doesn't notice is nonsense, as we are constantly running several programs at the same time. So this slowness is evident and annoying! And there are a lot of poorly told stories, I have codes comparing languages and when you look it's practically the same thing, C# is a little more direct than C++, Java is not! Python is a little more straightforward, but nothing that justifies the change and the huge loss of performance. I have been using GNU/Linux for over 30 years; After they started putting codes in interpreted languages into various software, the number of bugs skyrocketed, the opposite of what the video says.

The way you put it is just brilliant. "disciplined in taking breaks". We often push ourselves to be disciplined and hardworking to complete things on time, but completing something on time also means you negotiating the deadlines better. One must not rush, rather take as much time as possible so they complete task comfortably. Simply you are going to lose more from burnout than you will earn from hard work. It is very important to not end up hating what you do.

  • @kandycan

The coder burnout is real and it can last for weeks, months or years (years only if you start to hate it like I started hating chess because I wasn't winning, Now after about 1yr at least, I started playing chess a little bit. but same applies to coding and I have experienced both of these burnouts).

Yes if you are an entrepreneur but not an option in most corporate companies where everyone is go go go all the time. Decision takers are experiencing burnout themselves and one can only begin to imagine the quality of their decisions. On top of this some of them have an open office style where it is too crammed and too noisy to do quality work and for some reason working from home is not an option. Of course staff turnover is pretty high, moving from company to company forever swimming in an inexperienced sea.

Burnout can happen quickly if you're doing bug-fixes on legacy projects, too. Very uninteresting, to say the least. Combine with the "sprint" mentality, and chasing points - it happens. Ask me how I know.
